Progress update...just in case you guys thought I've been lazing about this winter!

A teeth chattering h-h-h-hullo! Did I mention it's freezing here? Temperatures in single digits (Fahrenheit).
Yes, it takes some serious grit to keep plugging away at the shop in the evenings...it's very tempting to stay warm at home. But rest assured my friends, I've been busy. Here you see almost all the major bits and pieces for TWO complete sets of casting patterns. I decided to do an extra set just in case. I may also try two different foundries to compare quality. There is still work left- some more small pieces, gluing things together, double and triple checking everything to ensure nothing's missing. But the bulk of the work is here.
Any encouraging thoughts and warm messages appreciated in the comments section- they'll surely help me deal with the cold!

Good to see so much progress. did ya ever start a list of who has asked to be 1st in line to aquire a 1000 block ?

Hmmm. Actually, I didn't start a list yet. I thought of starting that as soon as I can give folk the exact price, specs and anything else they want to know and some people are ready to commit to ordering. What do you think?

that was just a prod..but if ya don't like one of castings cause of apperance only issues, i know where it could go ! asto a list its not needed yet and could take your time away from the project. once its a working item or 2, then full on marketing. lotsa people are watching and waiting besides me. joe

Hey Mate read your magazine article, really inspiring stuff.It must be hard to be productive in sub zero temperatures but hope our words of encouragement have warmed you slightly!! the new parts you have made look amazing can't wait to see them fresh from the foundry,how's the new bullet restoration going?

Guys, it is really great to see your comments! And yes, they go far in keeping the cold away! Sunil and Lewis (who wrote from France!)- thank you so much for reading the article. Brrrrr...tonight, Columbus is going to see 9 degrees, tomorrow 7! That is roughly minus 14 celsius! Having grown up in baking hot New Delhi with much milder winters, my brain tries hard to go into hibernation mode but I dunk it in a big glass of tea and shake it a bit. Sometimes, it works :-)
Watch out for more updates coming in a week or two!

Excellent progress so far! I really do hope your engines will enter production at some time. I know there are a lot of people who are interested in yor amazing project. The Royal Enfield is one of the last bikes left with a pure soul..

Any word on a possible cooperation with the people from ACE? A double-barrel Fireball would be as epic as engines get..

Your idea is so good that I dont have words to appreciate you. I have a doubt though, the amount of inertia this beast is going to create what have you thought about the braking. I do realise that you want to keep it the way it was born(looks wise), but also do keep in mind if she has to stop, a lot of force is going to be needed.

Ehh, not really, not unless you're going to explore the full potential of the engine.

If you're driving 60Mph it doesn't matter if your bike has 20Hp or 200 - you'll need the same power to stop.

Progress is looking good. Time for some cubic dollars to make this happen.
If a manufacturer has not contacted you, please make the effort to court them. In todays legal world, it would take just one family member of your dedicated followers to take everything you own. Go find some deep pockets.

Hi Joe,

Hmmm, that is a worrying thought. Actually, my intention is to make them myself, or under my supervision, at the machine shop I work at...hence, be the manufacturer myself.
What would prompt anyone to take what I own?
Before I sell anyone anything, I'll definitely consult a lawyer about all possible skullduggery that may come my way. From my own research, almost all aftermarket motor performance stuff comes with some blanket disclaimers, or no one would want to make anything for fear of litigation.

Aniket, Great work Dude. Keep it up, I know it must be a pain working in the cold as I've done it many time myself. My solution, move to Victoria BC Canada!!! Weather here is fantastic, lots of vintage bikes and friendly folk. I look forward to turning my Bullet into a Musket someday. cheers and keep in touch. John

Really Keewl! It looks like it would have been something that Vincent partnered on! I didn't realize RE ever made any V-Twins, but it looks like they built some side valve models in the early days. Your site makes me want to get a classic English Iron motorcycle. I don't have the connections to be able to build a V-Twin, or the financial fortitude for a Vincent, so I would have to settle for either a single, or one of the side-by-side vertical twins. Outstanding workmanship on your Musket project. Looking forward to reading about the 1 litre project.

Hi Aniket- Awesome work! I must have watched your 'It's alive' video at least a dozen times savouring the twin thumps :)

Curious to know if you considered forged Aluminium Vs. cast Al for strength. From what I have gathered from various forums, cast Al is prone to cracking with wear due to microscopic air bubbles that are forced out in a forged process. Is this something that you looked at?
